Exploring Beijing
The first day starts with exploring the famous Forbidden City, or Imperial Palace. This Palace Museum will allow you to enjoy some of the best Chinese architecture. The next stop is the historic Tiananmen Square, where you can brush up on your history and political science classes. After some heavy history, relax at the spectacular Jingshan Park. You can climb a small hill here if you feel up to it. On the bright side, this small trek will give you jaw-dropping views of the surrounding area. The last stop for the day is Chairman Mao Memorial Hall.
The second day starts with a visit to the Temple of Heaven, where you can go to the Summer Palace by boat across Kunming Lake. Your next stop is Nanlouguxiang, where you can shop to your heart’s content. Also, do not miss the Bell and Drum Towers.
The third day will be a highlight for history buffs and adrenaline junkies. On the final day, you will visit the Great Wall of China, a UNESCO World Heritage site. There will be a lot of walking and exploring to do here. Again, remember to bring sunscreen, water, and snacks.
