Exploring Istanbul

The perfect way to kick-start your exploration of Istanbul is to look at the metropolis from the Galata Tower. There are numerous Ottoman monuments to explore, like the Rustem Pasha Mosque, the Topkapi Palace, the Suleymaniye Mosque, the legendary Hagia Sophia, and the Blue Mosque. The historical Roman Wall is also a sight worth exploring. You should also not miss the opportunity to have a fantastic view of the Golden Horn while you are here.

Tasting Turkish cuisine, especially Turkish coffee, is a must-do on a trip to Istanbul. You should also try to do some freestyle exploring of the city, particularly around Kadikoy and Taksim Square. If you want to enjoy a peaceful ferry ride without a crowd, Kadikoy is the place for you. In Taksim Square, see the statue of Ataturk and Istanbul University.

Also, explore the Grand Baazar and do some haggling to buy some of the world’s best lanterns, carpets, and ceramics.

If you have enough time, take a sunset cruise on the Bosphorus.
